Loretta is the Founder and CEO of Benevolent Helping Hands. She is an accomplished senior benefits and financial consultants with over 14 years experience in marketing, financial and healthcare. Her community engagement includes organizing Food Pantry Drives in US & Nigeria, along with financial & healthcare workshops to assist uninformed members of the community.

Akam Lawson

Co-founder & Executive Director

Akam Lawson is the cofounder of Benevolent Helping Hands. He obtained Bachelors’ degree in French & International Relations from Penn State University. As an Americorps Scholar, his community projects and workshops have centered around mentoring & tutoring youth, rebuilding communities after disaster, helping veterans, and working with local communities to alleviate poverty. Akam has also served as an international consultant for nonprofits in West Africa.

Anie has practiced law for 25 plus years. She has over 15 years of experience as a home health administrator and registered nurse. She is very familiar with the healthcare system from a legal and policy perspective, as a caregiver. Anie is deeply engaged with her community. She serves as the National President for the Nto- Annang Foundation USA & has many roles in her church ministry. Anie hopes to continue to touch the lives of others through her profession, her faith, and her testimonies.

Victor Mbaba is the President and founder of Africa’s Children’s Fund, a not-forprofit organization that assists under-served children and their families in the United States, the Caribbean and Africa to improve the quality of their lives and civic contribution through mentoring, gift of books, scholarships, food assistance, and transitional housing programs. Mbaba has received numerous awards and recognition for his work with children from national and international organizations including “The Diet Coke People at The Best Award”, The TBS Pathfinders Award, and The Concerned Black Clergy African Diaspora Award.

His civic engagement includes partnerships with the Education Volunteers Network of America (EVONA) & the Africa Council for Progress and Development (ACPD). He’s also provided food relief to his village of Ikot Eko Ibon, Akwa-Ibom, Nigeria during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Ette is the Program Director and leading professor at Delaware State University’s Department of Social Work. He serves as a commissioner in the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), the body responsible for accrediting social work programs in the United States and Canada.

Dr. Ette is the Program Director and leading professor at Delaware State University’s Department of Social Work. He is the author of many books, articles, and monograms. He recently was appointed to serve as a commissioner in the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), the body responsible for accrediting social work programs in the United States and Canada. He is a frequent Grant Reader for the United States Department of Education and Health and Human Services and has served as a grant reviewer for the Fulbright Program on a number of occasions. Prof. Ette serves on the editorial board of three academic journals and has been invited to serve in the Immigration Roundtable at Oxford University in England.
